Studies on the Effect of Anti - Convulsion and Muscle Relaxation by Puerariae Radix Aqua - acupuncture

Abstract
|

|
In order to investigate the effect of Puerariae Radix aqua-acupuncture on the anti-convulsion and muscle relaxation in mice, their points which correspond to Hab-Gog(LI4) and Tae-Chung(Liv3) of human body were treated with Puerariae Radix aqua-acpuncture. and then some were measured the convulsion and death time for convulsive induction by electroshock, and injection respectively made of strychnine, picrotoxin and caffeine, some others were observed muscle relaxation by the experiment of rota-rod metod.
The results were summarized as follows.
1. Anticonvulsion effect against the convulsion of the mouse induced by strychnine was recognized in applying aqua-acpuncture to various acupuncture loci, but it was recognized more significantly to the loci of Hab-Gog(LI4) and Tae-Chung(Liv3) at the same time.
2. Anticonvulsion effect aginst the convulsion of the mouse induced by picrotoxin was significantly recognized in applying aqua-acupuncture to the loci of Hab-Gog(LI4) and Tae-Chung(Liv3) at the same time.
3. Anticonvulsion effect against the convulsion of the mouse induced by caffeine was not recognized in applying aqua-acupuncture to various acupuncture loci.
4. Anticonvulsion effect aginst the convulsion of the mouse induced by electroshock was recognized in applying aqua-acupuncture to various acupuncture loci, but it was recognized more significantly to the loci of Hab-Gog(LI4) and Tae-Chung(Liv3) at the same time.
5. In the experiment of rota-rod method muscle relaxation effect was recognized slightly in applying aqua-acupuncture to the loci of Hab-Gog(LI4) and Tae-Chung(Liv3) at the same time.
